British Council and Bar Council delegation at Drystone Chambers

12 November 2015

Karim Khalil QC and Alex Cameron, on behalf of Drystone Chambers, hosted a delegation of Egyptian Judges and lawyers on behalf of the British Council and Bar Council yesterday. The joint initiative involved dissecting a case study and discussing differing approaches of taking the case forward, followed by a Q&A session. The case study session was part of the British Council's 'My Right' programme. The My Right programme helps women know and understand their rights and has been inspired by Victim Support UK in establishing women support centres in Egypt. The centres dispense expert legal advice to women and girls who are subject to violence. Psychological and social support is also there to help traumatised women make choices and decide for themselves.
