Edward Renvoize successfully prosecutes serial sex offender for offences dating back thirty years

25 January 2017

Edward Renvoize successfully prosecuted a serial sex offender who abused substantial numbers over a lengthy period of time. Colin Waterfield was convicted of committing the most serious sexual offences against both males and females during 3 decades from the 1970s onwards. The case consisted of non-recent crimes and had previously been investigated in the 1990s but not prosecuted at that time. He was convicted of 24 offences, however Waterfield denied all 30 charges against him. The Detective Inspector in charge of the investigation said "it was abuse of the most horrendous kind".
