Giles Bedloe successfully represents finance director accused of fraud

Giles Bedloe recently concluded a fraud trial at Lincoln Crown Court which ran for nearly eleven weeks and generated much press interest. The case concerned an alleged fraud and misappropriation of funds meant for the Priory Federation of Academies in Lincolnshire. Ten charges were brought against the former chief executive of the Priory Federation of Academies and its finance director. The Court found Richard Gilliland, former chief executive, not guilty of seven charges of fraud by abuse of position on dates between October 2008 and November 2011. Giles Bedloe's client Stephen Davies, the Federation's former finance director, was cleared of all three charges of fraud by abuse of position.
