Karim Khalil QC, leading Stephen Spence, act for pilot in Shoreham Air crash trial

25 January 2019

Karim Khalil QC and Stephen Spence are currently appearing at the Central Criminal Court representing Andrew Hill, the pilot who crashed his aircraft whilst performing at the 2015 Shoreham air show. Mr Hill's 1950s Hawker Hunter fighter jet crashed onto the A27 dual carriageway in West Sussex while it was performing a loop-the-loop stunt.

Karim Khalil QC told the court that the pilot, a Royal Air Force instructor and British Airways commercial captain, had been unfairly maligned. He said Hill had no memory of the crash and “may have been suffering cognitive impairment”. The trial continues.
