Rebecca Penfold instructed by the Government in high profile 'Bank Mellat' litigation

Rebecca Penfold is currently instructed by the Government Legal Department (Tsol) to assist in a disclosure exercise in the high profile 'Bank Mellat’ litigation. As a consequence of the Supreme Court judgment Bank Mellat v Her Majesty’s Treasury (No 2)  UKSC 39, which held that HM Treasury had acted unlawfully, Bank Mellat has brought a claim for damages in the sum of $4billion.
Rebecca holds 'SC' government security clearance, which means she can be given access to highly sensitive material. She has experience in dealing with the review, disclosure and handling of voluminous and sensitive material.
