Richard Heller and Alex Cameron secure convictions in substantial fraudulent trading matter
20 May 2016
Richard Heller and Alex Cameron, instructed by Thurrock Trading Standards, secure convictions in substantial fraudulent trading and blackmail case. The defendants, including Eddie Blundell (author of autobiography "Top-Draw Villain’), had run a wheel-clamping business over a period of years during which time they fixed wheel clamps to vehicles parked on public land and private property before demanding as much as £2500 for their release. Motorists were threatened with escalating costs and bogus charges in the event of immediate payment not being made. Many of the victims were females alone at night, at least one of whom assigned ownership of her car to the defendants when unable to pay the extortionate fees demanded. Sentencing has been adjourned.
