Stephen Spence & Edward Cole successfully defend Pilot

27 July 2015

Stephen Spence and Edward Cole have successfully defended a man accused of manslaughter. The defendant, Scott Hoyle, was accused of attempting a loop in his 1930's Tiger Moth aircraft when it crashed near Witchampton, Dorset, in May 2011. Mr Hoyle had been accused of carrying out a reckless loop manoeuvre at a dangerously low altitude aircraft he was piloting with former Royal Marine Orlando Rogers, 26. The defence called flight analysis from aeronautical engineer John Jeffery said tests carried out using crash investigation software showed the aircraft would have been able to safely perform a loop even with the handicaps alleged by the prosecution.
